Program Overview

The Vascular Sonography Technologist program at Stellar Career College prepares students to become skilled vascular sonographers capable of assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating vascular disorders.

The program emphasizes non-invasive vascular imaging techniques, patient care, and safety protocols. Students gain hands-on experience through a required clinical externship and develop expertise in identifying vascular abnormalities such as blockages, clots, and aneurysms.

Upon completion, graduates receive a Certificate of Completion and become eligible to sit for the ARRT Vascular Sonography Examination.

Program Objectives

The program equips students with the essential skills to perform vascular imaging procedures, assist in diagnosing vascular disorders, and support physicians in treatment planning. Students learn to assess blood flow, detect abnormalities, and evaluate the effectiveness of vascular treatments, with an emphasis on patient care and safety throughout.

  • Monitor blood flow to organs and tissues and detect vascular irregularities such as clots or blockages
  • Assist in planning treatments by identifying issues like plaque buildup, emboli, or aneurysms
  • Evaluate the outcomes of vascular procedures such as grafts or angioplasties
  • Determine vascular conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or varicose veins using non-invasive imaging
