Program Overview

The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS) Program at Stellar Career College offers comprehensive, career-focused training in ultrasound imaging, combining theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical experience.

Students learn to operate ultrasound equipment, perform diagnostic procedures, and interpret sonographic images for various medical conditions. The program covers a wide range of specialties, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecologic, cardiac, pediatric, and musculoskeletal sonography.

Accredited by ACCSC, the program ensures graduates meet industry standards and become eligible to sit for the ARRT certification exam in Sonography. The curriculum includes coursework in anatomy, physiology, sonographic techniques, and patient care, along with a clinical practicum for real-world training — preparing students for a successful and rewarding career in diagnostic medical sonography.

Program Objectives

The program is designed to equip students with the technical skills, clinical knowledge, and ethical understanding necessary for a successful career in sonography. Through classroom instruction and hands-on training, students learn to operate ultrasound equipment, perform diagnostic procedures, and deliver quality patient care.

Admission Requirements

Admissions Process

1. Submit the Online Application
2. Attend the mandatory Orientation Session
3. Complete the online assessments — Entrance Exam, Digital Literacy Assessment, and Distance Education Assessment
4. Submit required admission documents (see below)
5. (Optional) Submit certifications (CPR, CNA, etc.)
6. Get estimates / payment plan from the Financial Aid Department
7. Attend an interview with the Program Director
8. Receive your acceptance documents and sign them
9. Receive onboarding instructions and information

Note: Applicants holding a Bachelor’s degree or higher are exempt from the Entrance Exam.
