Practical Nursing Program

Program Overview

The Practical Nursing (PN) Program at Stellar Career College is designed to prepare students for a rewarding career in healthcare by combining classroom instruction, hands-on lab practice, and supervised clinical experiences. Students gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, effective, and compassionate care across the lifespan.

The program introduces students to the fundamentals of nursing, pharmacology, mental health, maternal/child health, adult health, nutrition, and gerontological nursing, while emphasizing evidence-based practice, communication, and cultural competence. With clinical rotations in diverse healthcare settings, students build confidence in real-world patient care scenarios.

Graduates are prepared to sit for the NCLEX-PN licensure exam and begin their careers as Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), equipped to work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, and community health organizations.

A minimum of High School Diploma with 2.50 cumulative GPA. Healthcare experience (e.g., CNA) and a college degree are preferred

  1. Attend a mandatory orientation session
  2. Complete Hesi Exam – send an email to admissions@stellarcollege.edu to get registered for the exam. You will then be prompted to make a $55 non-refundable fee and take the exam.
    • 3 Attempts allowed
    • Must score 70% or above
    • Note: Passing the Hesi exam does not guarantee admission into the program, until you have successfully completed and passed all the listed requirements and steps.
  3. Submit following admission documents to admissions@stellarcollege.edu
    Required Admission Documents (PDF format)
    • Government-issued ID
    • Transcript (Minimum CGPA 2.50 required)
    • Updated Resume
    • Letter of Recommendation (from a supervisor or instructor)
    • Essay (1–2 pages, APA format):
      • Prompt: Why are you interested in this program? Why now? What impact do you hope to make in healthcare?
  4. Complete Online Assessments
    • Digital Literacy (must score 70 or above)
    • Distance Education Orientation Course (completion certificate)

    Steps 1-4 must be completed by the deadline

  5. Attend required in-person interview with the program director
  6. Complete Criminal Background check
    • Inability to successfully complete this step will not allow applicants to proceed with the next step.

    You must successfully pass all the steps listed above to be considered for acceptance into the program.

  7. Receive official acceptance letter and enrollment agreement.

Also, the site may show Stellar Career College based in Modesto, CA. That is correct, as we have a branch there as well.
