Our History: A Legacy of Excellence — Stellar Career College

Stellar Career College has been a trusted name in career-focused education since 1986. The journey began when Lenore Hughes founded Computer Tutor in Modesto, California, to improve children’s reading, comprehension, and math skills.

Later, the institute expanded to offer computer software and clerical training for adults. By 1992, it included accounting courses to meet the growing demand for business professionals. Under the leadership of R. George Rawe—Director in 1997 and later Owner in 1998—the school introduced medical and computer technical programs that reflected changing industry needs.

In July 2002, it rebranded as Computer Tutor Business & Technical Institute. As a result, the institution earned ACCSC accreditation in March 2003. In addition, a modern facility was established at 4300 Sisk Rd., Modesto, CA, in February 2014.

A major transition took place in August 2017 when Stellar Career College, LLC assumed ownership under Dr. Zulfiqar A. Satti, President and CEO. Consequently, the name was officially changed to Stellar Career College in February 2018.

To expand educational access, the college also received approval from the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) on July 9, 2019.

For over three decades, Stellar Career College has delivered practical, instructor-led training that equips students with real-world skills.
