Program Overview
The Vascular Sonography Technologist (VST) program at Stellar Career College prepares graduates becomes vascular sonographers. Vascular technologists assist medical doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of a several vascular disorders in the human body. Vascular technologists perform non-invasive vascular exams to properly assess vascular disease or illness. VST professionals compile information that is gathered on an exam to give a preliminary impression. These professionals are trained in vascular scanning techniques and vascular disorders. The Vascular Sonography Technologist program also prepares the student to learn patient care and safety.
The program also offers clinical externship for Vascular Sonography Technologist (VST) that is required for the certification. After successfully completing the program, students will be awarded Certificate of Completion from our College approved by the State. Graduates will be eligible to take Vascular Sonography Examination of American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Program Objectives
Vascular Sonography Technologists perform the following:
- Help monitor the blood flow to organs and tissues throughout the body,
- Locate and identify blockages (stenosis) and abnormalities like plaque or emboli and help plan for their effective treatment,
- Detect blood clots (deep venous thrombosis (DVT) in the major veins of the legs or arms,
- Determine whether a patient is a good candidate for a procedure such as angioplasty,
- Evaluate the success of procedures that graft or bypass blood vessels,
- Determine if there is an enlarged artery (aneurysm), and
- Evaluate varicose veins.

Program Admission Requirements
Prerequisites
Applicants must hold a valid Radiology/X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy license to enroll in this programAdmission
- Enrollment is open for students on any day of the week. They will also be notified about the start date after confirmation of their registration.
- You must submit a high school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), a college transcript, or an equivalent certificate.

Applicants must fill out and sign an enrollment agreement that outlines their obligations toward the institute.Entrance Assessment
